Products - CineBridge Tag Tracker
Tag Tracker
Professional 3D tracking without a motion-capture system
Turn a single calibrated camera into a live 6-DoF tracking system from £3,500/year.
Built on the CineBridge platform used on
Ant Man 3, Wonder Woman 2, Aladdin, Game of Thrones, Assasins Creed, Doctor Who, The Wizarding world of Harry Potter Theme Park, and more…
SEE IT WORK
Move something in the real world. Move it in the digital world.
CineBridge Tag Tracker uses a camera to detect printed or displayed tags and calculate their 3D position, orientation and unique identity.
- Put a tag on an object… Move the object… The corresponding digital object moves with it.
- Track a camera… Its position and orientation can be used by your digital environment.
- Place tags around a physical space… Use their positions as known points within your 3D environment.
One camera. Live 6-DoF tracking. A direct connection between the physical and digital worlds.
WHY USE CineBridge Tag Tracker?
Professional tracking without the infrastructure of a full motion-capture system.
Traditional optical tracking systems can require:
- Multiple specialist cameras
- Infrared marker systems
- Proprietary tracking hardware
- Dedicated rigs
- Specialist operators
- Lengthy setup and calibration
CineBridge Tag Tracker takes a different approach.
A single calibrated camera can detect and track physical tags and provide their 6-DoF position and orientation to your application.
That makes it possible to build a tracking system around the cameras and computers you already have — or we can supply a complete calibrated system.
Start small. Scale when you need to.
Start with a webcam and PC.
Move to a machine-vision camera.
Move again to a cinema-camera-grade system.
The tracking technology stays the same.
Need to track a camera or physical objects in 3D?
WHAT CAN YOU TRACK?
Cameras
Track the position and orientation of a physical camera and use that information inside a digital environment.
Ideal for:
- Virtual production
- Previsualisation
- VFX
- Mixed reality
- Camera visualisation
- On-set visualisation
Physical objects
Attach a tag to an object and use its measured position and orientation as an input to your application.
For example:
- Props
- Models
- Tools
- Equipment
- Control objects
- Robot components
Move the physical object. Control the digital object.
Physical locations
Place tags at known locations to establish physical reference points within your environment.
Useful for:
- Digital twins
- AEC and BIM
- Robotics
- Manufacturing
- Simulation
- Spatial visualisation
HOW DOES IT WORK - THREE SIMPLE STEPS
1 – Capture
A camera observes the tracking environment.
The camera can be a webcam, machine-vision camera or suitable cinematography camera.
2 – Track
Tag Tracker identifies visible tags and calculates their 3D position, orientation and unique ID.
3 – Stream
Tracking data is streamed into Unreal Engine, Unity or your own application through the CineBridge interface.
That’s it.
Camera → Tag Tracker → 6-DoF data → Your application
BUILT FOR UNREAL ENGINE AND UNITY3D
Put live physical tracking directly into your 3D application.
CineBridge Tag Tracker integrates with modern real-time 3D workflows.
- Unreal Engine – Bring live camera, object and location tracking directly into Unreal Engine projects.
- Unity3D – Use Tag Tracker data within Unity3D applications and interactive experiences.
- Custom applications – Integrate tracking data into your own software using the CineBridge StrealLine interfaces.

ONE CAMERA - UP TO 65,000 UNIQUE TAGS
Give every physical object its own identity.
CineBridge Tag Tracker can detect and track up to 65,000 individual tags, allowing physical objects and locations to be uniquely identified.
Each tag has its own ID.
That means your application doesn’t simply know:
“There is a tag here.”
It knows:
“This is object 12,483.”
That ID can then be used by your application or database to determine what the object represents and what should happen next.
CONNECT TRACKING TO YOUR DATABASE
Track it. Identify it. Retrieve its information.
Each Tag has a unique ID that can be used as an index key in an external database.
The database is independent of CineBridge Tag Tracker and can be updated as required.
For example, a tagged object could be used to retrieve:
- Product information
- Service and maintenance records
- Educational information
- Health and safety information
- Operating information
- Application-specific data
The physical object becomes the key to its digital information.
DESIGNED FOR DIFFICULT ENVIRONMENTS
CineBridge Tag Tracker is designed to work in demanding conditions where conventional visual tracking can become difficult.
Low-light operation
Tracking can continue in extremely low-light environments.
Extreme viewing angles
Tags can be tracked at angles of incidence of approximately 80°, depending on the camera, tag and conditions.
High contrast
Designed to operate across challenging lighting conditions.
Outdoor use
Suitable cameras, tags and configurations can be used for outdoor applications.
Different tag sizes
Different tag sizes can be used to suit tracking distance and application requirements.
Colourised tags
Colourised tag designs can be used where conventional black-and-white markers are unsuitable.
